MIDYEAR UPDATES

My short term goal updates :

1.)  Go to church every Sunday. 7-1 ( so far so good )

2.)  Be healthy - fruits & veggies / day and at least 3 liters of water a day.

I fail with this goal coz  there were times that I was able to drink less than 2 liters a day & there were days that I was not able to eat fruits – I will try my best again.

3.)  Exercise, Exercise Exercise !!! 15 min. to 30 min.walk  /exercise .

I know that I am able to maintain this coz I’ve been counting more than 1,000 steps daily just to save from 8 to 16 pesos daily.

4.)  Have a health insurance - at least short term/1 year check up---done with it.

I was able to use my consult to the max card  for check ups six times already & I have used my womens health card too.

5.)  Kill Debt - one of the most difficult thing to do - not to use credit cards.

I was able to zero in some credit cards but due to unexpected turnarounds I was out of control again with my 3 credit cards but I’ve been managing my credits balances thru cash loans to prevent a higher accumulated interests.

6.)  Budget, Budget, Budget - Live below means. ----

I was able to live below my personal means  unfortunately I can’t control the unexpected expenses.

7.)  Have my 365 method short term savings---
I was not able to save my ideal 365 format every payday but I’m still continuing it & I’m on my 42nd set of my 365 saving method.

8.)  Have an emergency savings fund – ( for my health / family).

I really failed on this goal but I will really catch up with this, I'll start saving again.

9.)  De- clutter my mind / simplify things ---

I’m okay with this, I am now more focused, even if there were times I feel like giving up I always go back to the goals I have set this 2014.

10.) I will learn to cook ---- ang hirap ng hindi marunong magluto--sinaing lang sunog pa, hehehe
kidding aside ---promise I will start to learn how to cook every sunday.

I am a failure in this waahhhh.

I will do all my goals here this 2014!!!

Seventh Goal - Save, Save, Save PART 2

My savings strategy & plans were disrupted.
My budget was disorganized.
My emergency funds were all used.
Some of my jewelries were pawned.
And now I’m on the verge of giving up again.

February - "gastos month"
*My brother's wedding - I needed to buy some personal items for this occassion.
*House Renovation - It seems like I wasn't able to anticipate the expenses that I needed in fixing the  house where my brother will be living.

March - "adjustment month"
*This is the month where I will be adjusting my budget since my brother who shares a higher amount in household expenses will now be living separately from us.
*I also made some expenses for house repairs & for my room renovations.

April - "turnaround month"
Just as I thought that my 365 savings program we're perfectly planned,
another unexpected financial problem came up. My brother needed his money that he deposited in my account. Since its an investment account I cannot just withdraw it anytime because all the interest will lose and a penalty charge will be imposed.

For three months I’ve been thinking how I’ll be able to surpass these financial challenges again.
But this morning as I went outside our house I saw these ants – they were all lined up.
Then a little kid attitude inside me went out. I tried to play with those ants , disrupt their lines, put blocks on them  & distract them but they keep going back to their line.
Woohhh, I need to learn from these ants, these creatures no matter how small they are, no matter how hard it is for them to do their tasks they keep coming back on their line, to continue their task.
I needed a break for me to figure out a new strategy.
Even if my plans we're disrupted, I just need a little reorganizing.

Even if my 365 savings program stopped last month,
I was able to add up 30K to my investment account since brother needed to pull out his money on it. I still need 20K until december 2014 to reach my 50k goal.
As of now, I'm on my 37th set of my 365.00 savings and continually doing it until I reach my 82 sets target before the year 2014 ends.

Even if some of my jewelries were pawned, I was able to buy retaso for my kuya's rug making business with just 1,000 pesos for the puhunan.

And I'm still lending some cash to my officemates an additional income to add on my savings program.

I also loan 5K on credit card (1yr to pay) & added it on my investment account since my elder brother needed also an additional puhunan of 5K, I needed to pair it to apply for a minimum 10K loan. --- (automated savings with added interest, hahah).

Anyway I'm happy & thankful today May 18, 2014 that my mother is okay. Thank GOD my mother is doin good after the accident - accident really happens even inside the house. Really thankful to GOD because no permanent damage happens to my mother.

Just for the record I'm writing this blog & still monitoring my short term goals.

I want to add this to my GOAL --- i want to open a mutual fund hopefully before or after june 2014.

My Seventh Goal - Save Save Save part 1

My 365 Savings Goal

One year consist of 365 days.
My Idea is Start with a Small Goal.
Why not set A One Peso Goal?
From One peso a day to 365 pesos per year!
And the Challenge: How many 365's can you save in one year?

So I have invented my own 365.00 saving strategy method (for invcstment -365.00, for savings -365.00, for emergency fund- 365.00).
It's a method I have set for one year and my challenge is how many 365.00 will I be able to save for one year.
My target is 82 sets of 365 since my goal is 30k plus 13th month pay & my sss loan to achieve my 50k goal before I reached 40.

My saving's route:
* Since I love going to the mall I make sure that  I deposit my savings first to Wealthbank ( WealthBank is open from Mondays to Sundays) before spending my leisure time with my mother at market market :). In that way I will be spending only the extra money I have set after saving.
* I also trick myself to saving those pennies that I have save from my transportation allowance & from the baon that I set everyday.
* I also save the money I receive from our monthly company profit sharing.
* The interest they pay me from lending some amount of money to my collegues.
* The last is from doing rags @ home---a little amount of it will also help.

* Hopefully by September I'll be adding some from the rent I'll be receiving from my brother.

That's why I opened three accounts at wealthbank where I will deposit my savings upon completing every  365-goal I made.

THIS ACCOUNT IS FOR MY SAVINGS/SAFETY FUND :) - this where I will put my 365 savings & invest fund with a maintaining balance of P 200.00 only & a rate of .25% interest.

THIS IS FOR MY INVEST - A SPECIAL SAVINGS ACCOUNT- A time deposit account where I add my the sum of my 365's from my savings account here also & renew every 30th day with an interest rate of 2% annually and a maintaining balance of 10,000.00. From here I will get my start up mutual fund hopefully before 2nd quarter of this year I'll be able to open my mutual fund.

AND FOR MY EMERGENCY FUND - I opened this ATM account for emergencies, this one also has a P 200.00 maintaining balance & it also comes with a free personal accident insurance.

So no matter how small your earnings is, no matter what your saving strategy is, Just SAVE.

Start your GOAL!
Start SAVING!
START INVESTING!!!

Sixth goal - Budgeting

My sixth goal- BUDGETING.

After I received my salary - approximately P 5,500 net, automatically it will be divided, I can't follow the 70-20-10 method since my income is already tight and the percentage is not suitable. I just need to stick to my budget and what is important is that I still have some amount for my savings/emergency fund, investment & for charity too.

I also have this so called stapler method for my daily allowance (P 150.00 for no overtime day & P180.00 for my overtime day) to prevent myself from spending above my per day allowance.

This is my hapit budget format :)
Tracking down expenses is also important so I made a list too.
I've been monitoring my expenses since january 2014.
Well, March is an adjustment period for me " its a mall ban month for me" hahah.

I just got out of so many credit card debts last year mostly due to impulsive buying & unplanned expenses. Thanks to all the finance articles & tips I read in facebook & the seminar I attended @ IMG I was able to manage my finances now. (parang napakalaki ng sweldo ko no, heheh? but seriously if you dont manage your finances malaki man o maliit ang sweldo without proper knowledge you'll be doomed to debt).
Luckily I still live with my parents & I have a brother who also shares on paying bills & other panggastos to my nanay.

Hopefully I can continue to train myself in spending only what is needed & essential in my daily routines and to discipline myself in living a minimum wager lifestyle.

The principle. "If you can't increase your means then you have to live below your means".

Now, its time for my next goal.
