AUGUST 12, 2016
Getting stuck in the traffic is a normal scenario in my daily school-work activity but last Friday - August 12 was really exhausting. One hour of traffic or one hour of walking is bearable for me but two hours is not. I got stuck in traffic for one hour before I decided to walk. I even walked through that knee high flood in Pasong Tamo so I can pass through it, ride another jeepney and finally decided to walk again for two hours. You can just imagine how tired I was after walking for two hours while carrying a bag with laptop inside, holding a book, an umbrella & wearing heeled shoes. I even walked bare foot because I can no longer stand the pain in my legs and feet but decided to wear my shoes back because of the "palaka & linta" on the sidewalk. Hay grabe talaga!!!
While I was walking, a lot of "if only's" popped in my head. If only I have saved more during my early productive years, I would have settled myself financially "hindi sana ako naglalakad ng ganito" - maybe I'll be just sitting in our sofa while watching my favorite series "The Mentalist, Walking Dead or Game of Thrones" or I would have own a car like "Mini Cooper or Aston Martin" today driving it to Vigan or Bicol and lastly I would have checked myself in a five star hotel and resting beside the swimming pool, "o di ba libre mangarap habang naglalakad". A lot of maybe's in my head but just maybe then If I do own a car today just the same I would still be stuck in that traffic anyway.
Just like reaching our goals - it maybe tiring, difficult and slow but atleast were moving up one step forward in fulfilling our dreams.
Just sharing again.
How 'bout you?
What are your experiences during rainy season?
Have a great weekend!
God Bless.
One time, a few years ago sobrang traffic, yun pala may portion na mataas ang baha kaya hindi gumagalaw.
Thanks for dropping by sis. God Bless.
DeleteI can feel you sis. One time, I was in a bus tas hindi masyadong gumagalaw ang mga sasakyan, I was in a deep regret na sana nag MRT na lang ako. Maulan kasi that time kaya instead of bumaba ako at lakarin ang papuntang MRT, tinuloy ko na lang ang bus ride. Imagine from North Edsa to Ayala, it took me 4 hours. Grabe. Traffic is really horrible these days. Muntik pa akong malate sa work. But yeah, if we only took advantage of our younger selves, we could have retired by now. Hehehe. But as you said, we still have time. And it is right now what matters most - to make things right in our point of view.:)
Thanks sis, God Bless.
DeleteBack in 2011, I remember walking in a waist level flooded streets from Vito Cruz to Kamagong Makati. When you come to think of it, it was quite near. But walking in a deep flood wasn't easy. My dad went to fetch me at school, and little did I know that we'll walk all the way from my school to a certain place in Makati. I was wearing flat shoes so whenever I take a step, my doll shoes were slipping as if they were about to float. So I removed them and walked barefoot. Unluckily, since it was raining hard, I dropped the other shoe. So what am I supposed to do with the other? I dropped it na rin. So I walked barefoot and loads of trash were floating. Didn't even know if there were rats or frogs or any stuff in there. In my mind, I just wanted walk past through the flooded water. And of course we did. My dad and I were soaking wet, and my feet were wounded and full of blisters. Well, that's how our life is in the Philippines. It's more fun nga naman! Haha sorry mahaba. Hope to hear from you soon!

Natuwa naman ako sa kwento ng shoes mo, Hahah, yeah its more fun & challenging in the Philippines talaga. Thanks for dropping by sis & God Bless...
Hi sis, I'm sorry to hear about that rough day. Every time na makakarining ako ng news na baha, I always wish na sana magkaroon naman ng project to control flooding and sana maging disiplinado talaga ang mga tao sa garbage nila.
ReplyDelete2x pa lang ata ako naka-experience ng baha dito sa Manila. First was nung Milenyo. Until now, napapailing ako tuwing naaalala ko yun. Shoes talaga yung niligtas ko instead of paa ko from potential sharp objects hahaha!
While minimal na ang experience ko sa traffic because of work schedule, I always always feel bad for those people na nadadaanan kong naghihintay ng masasakyan dahil na-traffic pa somewhere ang mga PUJs. Hay. I wish one day, we'll have better public transport systems that are at par with first world countries.
Thanks for dropping by sis. God Bless.
Enjoy the rest of the week! :)
Thanks a lot ms. edel. God Bless.
